Companion animals will be, indeed, included with family groupings during Ascension. And this will be made clear to people when the process of Ascension becomes imminent, that to be ready they need to gather together all whom they wish to ascend with, as a group, including any beloved companion animals. And this will be further supported and arranged in a way to make it a simple and easy process for all to be included.
