DWQA QuestionsCategory: PrayerA viewer asks: “Regarding the prayer of protection, ‘The light of God surrounds us; The love of God enfolds us; The power of God protects us; The presence of God watches over us; Wherever we are, God is!’ Is it empowered? I wonder because it is not in the form of a request. Would it be more powerful to change it as follows, ‘Creator, surround us with your light, enfold us with your love, protect us with your power, watch over us wherever we are for you are always with us?'” What is Creator’s perspective?

This would be a truly Empowered Prayer, unlike your example. That is very typical of New Age interpretations of spirituality, that it is more in do-it-yourself mode, presuming that, as a light being, you have divine powers already, and this is more a reminder of your power, to be blessed with divine oversight and protection, than a request, when it is the latter we can respond to. We are only able to do what is contained within the intention of a requester, so if a seeming prayer of protection is launched that is, on its face, a conversation with one's self, simply stating it is a given that one is blessed with divine oversight, there is no intention for us to follow in adding anything more. People can choose to assume anything they please, but that will not make it so. Your version is, therefore, far superior.
