DWQA QuestionsCategory: Divinely Inspired MessengersDr. Pagels wrote, “The stark events of Jesus’ life and death cannot be understood, he (the Gospel of Mark author) suggests, apart from the clash of supernatural forces that Mark sees being played out on earth in Jesus’ lifetime. Mark intends to tell the story of Jesus in terms of its hidden, deeper dynamics – to tell it, so to speak, from God’s point of view. What happened Mark says, is this: ‘Jesus of Nazareth, after his baptism, was coming out of the water of the Jordon River when “he saw the heavens torn apart and the spirit descending like a dove on him” and heard a voice speaking to him from heaven. God’s power anointed Jesus to challenge the forces of evil that now dominate the world, and drove him into direct conflict with those forces.'” Following the baptism, the mysterious narrative describes him immediately being “driven” into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness forty days being tempted by Satan. Given that Creator has said Satan is a composite figure only, what REALLY took place in the desert during those forty days? How would Creator today characterize the adversary that Jesus struggled with and against, and what was the nature of that struggle? What can Creator tell us?

What we can describe for you, for the first time, was the true story of what took place during Jesus's time in the wilderness. Taking over a human body by a light being requires some adjustment and, in particular, to be effective in the mission life Jesus Christ intended to have, the first order of business became reconfiguring the physical being of his predecessor. The fact that the body was handed over to him to occupy through agreement did not create a fresh start unencumbered by prior karma of the first host. There was, in fact, much old business still corded to that physical body from many, many sources of difficulty and negative energies of all kinds. As is typical for human beings growing up, their old karma from trauma of prior lifetimes will re-emerge and be brought around by the Law of Karma to present challenges for healing.

So there was much negative energy within and corded to the physical body that Jesus Christ stepped into and which belonged to the prior inhabitant, but nonetheless affected the physical makeup and the cellular consciousness, especially. There was a period of time needed for healing and acclimation as well, and that was done through prayer and contemplation during Christ's time in the wilderness to cleanse the body, strengthen it, and make the adjustments energetically to effect a full and clear linkup with us in order to work away at clearing the decks, so to speak. This as well, speaks to the truth of things, that Christ was special and untainted because that was worked on carefully, both before his appearance on the Earth and immediately on taking up residence to pave the way for his effective ministry.

So, in a sense, the description in the Scriptures of being "tempted by Satan" is an apt description of wrestling with karmic negativity. That is the nemesis of everyone coming into physical existence. Much bad happens while in the physical and is always put on record and not dealt with until later and, if need be, in a subsequent lifetime, or a series of lifetimes may be needed if there is a substantial backlog of negativity needing healing. This has become a mountain of unfinished business for almost everyone, so that is why even Jesus Christ needed time to get his bearings and prepare himself on all levels for carrying out his mission as a divine prophet.
