DWQA QuestionsCategory: Divinely Inspired MessengersRudolf Steiner wrote “Christ in the Etheric,” that following his crucifixion, Christ took up the mission of being a “gateway” presence to the physical afterlife; that following the crucifixion, Christ could meet the departed directly in the etheric or astral plane and assist with their transition, or coach them into returning to their life here for a period longer. His presence in the etheric puts him energetically closer to humans in the physical so that we can more easily feel his presence than might have been possible before, and all of this is happening while still largely being shielded from interloper observation and interference. Since this new mission appears to have commenced after his crucifixion, was the crucifixion itself necessary or a gateway to this new mission, or purely incidental and not at all integral to it in any way spiritually or energetically? What can Creator tell us?

It is true that Jesus Christ, like all beings in the light, can assist spirits in limbo from departing physical incarnations in order to have a successful return to the heavenly realm. Precisely because of his impactful ministry on the Earth, to this day, millions reach out for his attentions and his help, to heal and help save them, as the case might be, so he is called on by name millions of times every day, and this is true for spirits in limbo who may have presence of mind—they will call on Jesus Christ for help. So this was not the goal of his mission life but simply a continuation of his ministry, once he ascended following his resurrection, to be of continued service to humanity and is continuing in this fashion to be available, through his energy, to the many who are in need everywhere.
