What is the black spirit my client keeps seeing in her home?

This is a hybrid lost soul human spirit who is being tasked with high-level psychic attacks and physical manipulations of your client by the warlock who has a feud going with her from prior lifetime entanglements. So this karma is in the process of being healed, but that is not complete as yet. In the meantime, anything can happen. We are in a defensive mode, frequently needing to patch things up and help her to keep going, rather than being able to forestall the attacks altogether. That is where we need to get to in order to be of visible benefit. That will be coming, but you are not there as yet.
