DWQA QuestionsCategory: Divinely Inspired MessengersWhen Saint Faustina was given instructions from Jesus to have her vision of him painted as a portrait for souls to approach and receive graces and inspiration from, she was further instructed to include the words, “Jesus I trust in you.” Does this suggest that the issue of “trust in the divine,” and the widespread lack thereof, is perhaps the elephant in the room? Is this indeed a significant problem for the bulk of humanity? What percentage of the population would you say have “significant trust issues” with God and anything associated with the divine? As trust is often hard-won, but easily lost, is this why so much emphasis is placed on it?

As we have already discussed somewhat already, trust is indeed a central dilemma of humanity and a major factor for the disconnection so many people feel from the divine. It is at once a reflection of a lack of faith to not trust fully in someone. Without trust, you are doubting the other party's reliability and willingness to respond and treat you like an equal, to be fair, willing to share, and give of themselves. But in that description, you can see this raises questions about the person harboring weak trust—how giving might they be? How willing might they be to treat the other party like an equal if they have a lack of trust in them? So again, we would say that having a "lack of trust," which is essentially "mistrust," is a diagnostic indicator of weak intentions, that already there is an assessment and a decision to only go so far in approaching someone, and that will limit involvement and all that might ensue and lead to, in the development of a strong and productive and positive relationship. In other words, mistrust is a roadblock, and this is experienced by a high majority of human beings when it comes to trust in the divine. This is largely a state of having weakened faith or an absence altogether on the part of nonbelievers. That is a major dilemma. Your disconnection and disbelief in us is a major liability and an obstacle not only to your progress but potentially your continued existence. You are in a contest between good and evil. When you harbor mistrust of us and it distances you and keeps you disconnected, you become disconnected from the Source of Goodness, and eventually evil will find and fill that void.
