We do not wish to disparage religion unnecessarily but must point out, in all honesty and fairness and as a service to those believers who treasure their faith and the heritage of religious membership, that the latter is always, in a sense, provisional, and that is what faith implies—a state of belonging and wanting to be connected in the absence of absolute proof and concrete evidence the connection is real, in place, and serving the person in a direct and reliable way. This is the human dilemma in a nutshell, that you are so disconnected from awareness of us even though we are inside of you and bonded to you from both sides, ours and yours, coming together energetically and creating powerful cordings that remain in place. Such interconnections create an infrastructure with potential, but the actual functioning is dynamic and variable in its power and fidelity. Much will depend on the soul attributes in place and being expressed to provide strength, spiritual vigor, and intensity and solidity of the level of belief of the individual as well as the belief in themselves to be worthy of divine partnership and attention. In practice, people will not maintain a 100% level of either. This is why faith can be tested and waver, and why people who are firm believers in the divine will often have trouble staying in alignment and even receive help from us because of doubts about their own self-worth.
The drift away from organized religion by many people over the years is a reflection of the lack of attention and active working of the spiritual muscles by religious observance that is more than paying lip service, but putting faith into practice with an action of some kind that is meaningful and expresses the true divinity of the individual. For example, acts of loving kindness and compassion or charity that is heartfelt will raise the person up every bit as much or more than the receiver of that largesse. People do not usually think of their lives on a day-to-day basis as a test of faith and, as such, are not living their faith in a very aware and concrete interaction with their thoughts and feelings as they would if accompanied by a best friend at their side all day long and taking part in everything they do. That is the role we play for everyone, but almost always as a silent partner, a kind of invisible shadow that is ever-present but unacknowledged and not perceived. So what that means is, when people have a sudden setback or a tragedy unfolding that is going to take their physical life, their normal state of disconnection only gets worse because they will shortly become disconnected from a very important working part of themselves as a physical being losing their physical body. That heightens the dilemma of disconnection from the divine, and this is why such circumstances often become a stumbling block to the soul's journey. And the lost soul human spirits remaining in limbo will need outside help for their rescue, because that low moment made them more vulnerable than ever to negative influences from the darkness and it may have such a strong hold over them the personal wherewithal remaining functional may not be up to the task of completing their transition successfully, because their vibration is so low they will not see the light callers coming to greet them and invite them to journey to the higher astral plane back in the heavenly realm where they need to go.
